The Chief Justice (or C.J. for short) was the Lawbot Boss found in Lawbot Headquarters Courthouse before retiring. Toons with Lawbot Cog Disguises could enter the Courthouse and battle against him. At the end of this battle, the C.J. would storm off and hide in his chambers, leaving Toons to be rewarded with Cog Summons.
As of Corporate Clash's Annual Review Comic, the Chief Justice has left C.O.G.S. Inc. and The Chairman has designated a Manager-type Cog, the Witness Stand-In, to fill in while a permanent replacement for head of the Lawbot Department is found.
The Chief Justice was first replaced by the Witness Stand-In during Operation: Break The Law phases 2 & 3, then officially replaced by the Chief Legal Officer in v1.1.0. With the upcoming Taskline revamp, it has been confirmed that the Chief Justice will no longer be canon in Corporate Clash's story.[1]

Cog Round (Tier 3) | Cog Levels | Cog Level Pool | Cog Amount |
5-17.exe | ~630 | ~57 Cogs |
*The Cog Level Pool is the cumulative number of Cog Levels within the entirety of the battle, being split between both sides.
The Chief Justice used Boss Tiers, a system implemented to increase the difficulty for groups of Toons that have progressed to higher suit levels. The difficulty tier was decided by taking the average Cog Suit tier of your group. Higher C.J. tiers would:
No matter the tier, the C.J. always had 2700 health.
CJ Tier | Suit Average | Lawyers Present | Cog Levels | Summons Rewarded |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 1 | 8 | 5-15 | 1 |
2 | ||||

2 | 4 | 5-16 | 2 | |
5 | ||||
6 | 9 | |||
3 | 7 | 5-17 | 3 | |
8 | 10 |
Note: Interestingly, the lawyer count does not increase precisely with each tier. Instead, it increases once a tier 6 suit average is reached, and then increases again once when a tier 8 average is reached.
The boss battle begins with the Chief Justice announcing the trial of Bumpy Bumblebehr, before recognizing the disguised Toons, causing them to poof out of their Cog Disguises.
Toons will be split into two separate battles (unless there are 4 or fewer Toons) and begin battling waves of Lawbot Cogs. Cogs will spawn from the C.J.'s undercarriage ranging from levels 5-15, 5-16, or 5-17 depending on the difficulty tier. The next round will begin once all Cogs have been defeated.
After the Cog round, the Chief Justice returns to his judge's bench, declaring the commencement of jury selections. Noticing that only Cogs are put on the jury, Bumpy Bumblebehr begs the Toons to use the cannons and launch Toon jurors into the jury chairs. There are 12 jury seats in total. The jury round lasts for 70 seconds.
During this round, Toons will use the cannons to aim and fire at one of the 12 jury chairs, replacing the Cog jurors with Toons. Toons can use the movement controls to adjust the cannon's trajectory and slightly strafe their Toon while in the air. The jury box slowly moves backward throughout the round. Cogs till reclaim seats taken by Toon jurors, taking the Cog ~25 seconds after the Toon was seated to reclaim it. Due to this, it was recommended to wait until 25 seconds were left on the clock to begin firing. It was also acceptable to fire cannon rounds before the 45-second mark as practice.
The total amount of jurors seated will affect how much health the Chief Justice has in the next round. 8 Toon Jurors will have the C.J. start with half health in the next round, and a full Toon jury will leave him with 1,078 health.
The number of jurors you seated will also increase the bonus weight of your evidence in the next round. Bonus weight increases the amount of damage your evidence deals, which is 1 by default. Bonus weight is calculated as the total jurors you seated - 1. This number cannot go below 0.
The final round of the Chief Justice battle has Toons throwing evidence into the defense pan, trying to tip the scale in their favor. Multiple gavels fill the courtroom constantly slamming into the ground, damaging Toons if caught under them.
The Chief Justice has 2700 total health, which depletes as Toons throw evidence into the defense pan. The number of Toons on the jury will affect how much health the Chief Justice starts with, depleting down to 1,078 starting health. The C.J. will jump occasionally, shouting "You're all in contempt of court!" when he does so, damaging any Toons who fail to jump in time.
Toons can obtain 22-36 evidence, depending on the difficulty tier, by touching the witness stand where Bumpy Bumblebehr resides. Throwing evidence at the scale will deplete the C.J.'s health, throwing it at a lawyer Cog will stun them, and throwing it at another Toon will heal them for +3 laff.
Lawyer Cogs will be positioned on the other end of the defense pan, either throwing evidence into it or at a random Toon, damaging them if hit. These Cogs can be stunned for a few brief seconds by throwing evidence at them. If all lawyers are stunned at once, Toons will heal +10 laff and evidence will deal x2 damage for 20 seconds. This effect will go on cooldown for 40 seconds before it can be triggered again (though Cogs can still be stunned).
Once the C.J. reaches 0 health, he will declare a mistrial and return to his chambers, before suddenly being flattened by a large amount of paperwork needed to file for a mistrial. Toons are rewarded with summons for defeating the Chief Justice.
