Cog Invasions
Cog Invasions are a feature where a specific Cog type invades a District for a duration of time (typically around 30-50 minutes), replacing all Cogs on the streets of affected Neighborhoods. Neighborhoods affected by an invasion will have a 2x Gag experience and Merit multiplier on their streets. Invaded Neighborhoods are indicated by department symbols on the Shtickerbook Map, though players must have teleport access to that Neighborhood to see it. Most Cog invasions occur randomly, but the system can summon specific kinds of invasions for special events.
Spawn Requirements
During an invasion, invading Cogs can only affect specific areas and locations. Neighborhoods only allow invasions from a specific level range, or tier of Cog.
Cog Invasions will never affect Toontown Central or Cog Headquarters and are completely unable to invade Safe Districts and Protected Districts. This, in turn, means that Neighborhoods and Cog HQs unaffected by the invasion will not receive the x2 Gag XP and merit multiplier. Invading Cogs will not affect the Cogs inside Cog Buildings nor will they give increased Gag XP or merits. They can, however, influence what type of Cog Buildings are spawned on the streets, even allowing for department buildings to exist on streets which would normally be impossible (e.g. Boardbot Buildings on Wizard Way). Street Managers will still spawn during invasions.

Trivia
- Prior to the 1.3.0 update, invasions could be summoned by players using Summons.
- Additionally, Executive Cog Invasions were able to be spawned through Summons.
- Department invasions have been occasionally summoned by staff, which only spawn Cogs from a specific department.
- This most recently happened for the Cog Building music updates to aid in finding buildings.
- Although Cog Invasions do not affect Toontown Central or Cog Headquarters, Cogs in those areas will still fly away as if they are being replaced by that invasion.
- Needlenoses are the only Cogs that can invade every Neighborhood at once (excluding Toontown Central).
- During The Director's Cuts ARG, a Boardbot Department invasion occurred, causing an increased chance of Boardbots in most areas of Toontown.
- This included unusual locations such as C.O.G.S. Boss fights.
