Unused Content
This page contains content left on the cutting board, never making it into an official build of the game.
Unused Cogs
Originally, there were plans to add female Skelecogs to the game. A model was made, but was scrapped.[1]
Some concept art of an unknown Cog that was shared on the Corporate Clash Twitter.[2]
The Short Squeeze would have been the tier 1 Boardbot Cog, conceptualized in 2021 for a planned Boardbot Headquarters update. Development on the Short Squeeze would stop to continue working on the v1.3.0 Update, and would later be scrapped in favor of the Bagholder as the tier 1 Boardbot.[3] While the short squeeze was scrapped, a Cog Attack by the same name exists, introduced in the v1.7.0 update.
A short squeeze is the act of rapidly raising stock that results in sellers buying the stock, especially if those sellers are expecting a price drop. This drives up the price of the stock even higher.[4]
The Market Maker would have been the tier 3 Boardbot Cog, planned for a Boardbot Headquarters update. This Cog would later be scrapped in favor of the Insider.[3]
A market maker is someone who quotes both sides of a market, buying and selling securities to make a profit on the bid-ask spread.[5]
The Angel Investor was planned to be a Boardbot Specialist for a planned Boardbot Headquarters Update. Her design was fully completed before the v1.3.0 Update. When work on the Boardbot revamp resumed in 2023, her design was deemed too "chibi" and would go through several iterations before eventually being cut. Notably, she was seen as too "unique" for a standard Cog and may be seen in a future update.[3]
An angel investor is a high-net-worth private investor who financially backs small startup businesses or entrepreneurs in exchange for equity.[6]
The Killer Bee was a planned Boardbot Specialist, designed and modeled during development for a Boardbot Headquarters update in 2021.[3]
A killer bee is someone who helps target firms avoid hostile takeovers.[7]
The Contrarian was planned to be the tier 4 Boardbot Specialist, created in 2021 for a Boardbot Headquarters update. When development on the Boardbot revamp continued in 2023, the Contrarian was scrapped in favor of the Circuit Breaker, who would become the tier 4 Boardbot generalist Cog.[3]
A contrarian is an investor who buys shares when others are selling and sells when others are buying.[8]
The Lobster Trap was a proposed Boardbot conceptualized in 2023 for the v1.7.0 Boardbot Revamp update.[3]
A lobster trap is a defensive strategy employed by small businesses to protect themselves from hostile takeovers.[9]
The Ankle Biter was a planned Boardbot modeled and designed for the Boardbot revamp but was later scrapped. Parts of their design would inspire the finalized deadlock design.[3]
An ankle biter is slang for stock with low market capitalization.[10]
The Greenmailer was designed as a low-tier Boardbot Cog, conceptualized in late 2022.[3]
A greenmailer is someone who buys a large amount of shares in a company to threaten a hostile takeover so that the company will repurchase its shares at a higher price.[11]
The Handholder was initially designed to be a Sellbot Street Manager for Toontown Central, before it would eventually be replaced by the Duck Shuffler. They had concept art for their design, their cheats, and for their dialogue. All in which were ultimately casted away due to the difficulty of finding the right design for the Handholder.[12]
A Handholder is someone who gives support or instructions to others.[13]
Unused Gags
A scrapped bear trap Trap Gag. The Gag got as far as getting a model made before being scrapped. The model was shared on the Corporate Clash Twitter.[14]
A variety of early Gag concepts that were shared on the Corporate Clash Twitter. Concepts for a mouse trap, an eel in a mug, and another unused Gag can be seen among these concepts.[15]
Unused Concepts
There were originally plans to add SkeleTOONS for Halloween. This idea would go unused, but one of the models was shared on the Corporate Clash Twitter.[16][17]
Originally, Street Managers would have the opportunity to take over buildings and transform them into a special one-story Cog Building. This Cog Building had the design of the Manager's face planted on where the department indication would've been, and the floor indicator would've been star-shaped instead of a circle. The Street Manager would have been stronger within this new building, having more health and damage, on top of being a few levels higher. This idea was ultimately scrapped.
There were plans for a new post v1.3.0 expansion featuring new instances where the playground's respective Street Manager and Kudos Manager would able to be fought against at the same time. Toons would have to collaborate and team up with Mac Opsys and Winn Dos to help take on these duo threats. Both Managers in their instances would've been stronger and their cheats would have similar synergies to that of The Litigation Team. This idea was ultimately scrapped for scope control reasons, but the idea could possibly be revisited in the future.
Unused Cosmetics
An unobtainable skirt variant of the Zzz Outfit from the MerchandiZzzing task. Despite the texture existing in the game's files, the skirt is entirely unobtainable and is not worn by any NPC Toons.
Concepts for unused Ye Olde Toontowne themed shirts that were shared on the Corporate Clash Twitter.[18]
An unused shirt concept that was shared on the Corporate Clash Twitter.[19]
An unused nameplate concept that was shared on the Corporate Clash Twitter.[20]
An unused concept for a Doctor Costume to go along with the Nurse Costume as well as two additional unused accessories for the Nurse Costume (the Syringe and First Aid Kit backpacks).
Unused Locations/Shops
Some unused designs for Acorn Acres shops that were shared on the Corporate Clash Twitter.[21]
There were originally plans to give The Snooze Bar a custom interior. A model was created of this interior, but was scrapped.[22]
There were originally plans to give the Toon HQ in Ye Olde Toontowne a custom interior that would stand out compared to the other Toon Headquarters. Images of the scrapped model for this interior were shared on the Corporate Clash Twitter.[23]
Misc. Unused Content
An unused model titled "squealbarrow.bam" can be found in the Lawbot HQ models folder within phase_11. The model is a leftover from early versions of the Chief Legal Officer's final round where Toons would wheel around wheelbarrels to use sound.[24]
Two unused models found in the Lawbot HQ models folder within phase_11. Based on their names it can be assumed that the two models were used for testing purposes when developing the Lawfices.
Three currently unused Status Effect icons that currently exist in the game's files. Some brief notes about each icon are as follows:
- The Monsoon icon goes unused in favor of the Schadenfreude icon. This was likely done to make it so Toons and Cogs could share the same icon.[25]
- It is unknown what the purpose of the Sads icon is. The icon was originally added to the files in the v1.2.5 Update.
- The Toon Accuracy Down icon has gone unused since its addition to the files in the v1.2.0 Update.
