Kickback Strategy

If you want to kill a level 30 executive Cog for the Kickback bonus rather than trying to get it Offboarded, you can do something like the following:

  • After the level 30 executive is made, get the RPM to 17,000-19,000. If the RPM was 16,000 and you've hit the Chainsaw Consultant 4 times on the turn that Cut the Slack happened, the RPM will go down to 13,000, then go back up to 17,000, being just enough to proceed to the next part without having to spend an extra turn on getting the RPM to 17,000-19,000.
  • Once the RPM is at 17,000-19,000, use a prestige TNT on it, use a group Lure, use a Geyser or a Storm Cloud on the Chainsaw Consultant, and use a Prestige Boulder on the level 30 executive. The level 30 executive should be at 790 or 783 health depending on the Squirt Gag that was used. This is intended to trigger Marked Wood.
  • Next turn, use 3 prestige Lightnings on the Chainsaw Consultant to finish off the level 30 executive. If the boulder from the previous turn missed, a fourth Lightning will have to be used. Otherwise, the fourth Toon is free to Toon-Up, use a damage IOU (for further capitalizing on Kickback), or pre-place a Trap on the Chainsaw Consultant.

When using an IOU for the Marked Wood trigger, there is a number of good options:

  • Madame Chuckle or Daffy Don for increased safety in future turns.
  • Clerk Penny, Clara, Nancy Gas, Clumsy Ned, or Franz Neckvein for increased damage in future turns.

  • While the Cogs are linked, a great idea is to pre-place a TNT on the Chainsaw Consultant. During the Kickback period, this will deal heavy damage to the Chainsaw Consultant, grants increased accuracy to group Lure for use on the Cogs that will show up after the last linked Cog is destroyed, and provides Dazed for its usual benefits.
  • You can set up IOUs before defeating the last Chain Linked Cog so that you can capitalize further on the Kickback bonus.
    • The most commonly used are Drop IOUs.
    • Moe Zart may also be used if your plan for the 2 turns of Kickback is 3 Sound and a Lure on a pre-placed TNT into Throw and 3 Encore Pianos. If done correctly, (Kickback and 20,000 RPM, all 3 Pianos are Prestige and buffed with Barnacle Bessie and prestige Encore, target is Soaked, Dazed, and Marked) this Sound-based setup can get the Pianos to do over 1000 damage each.
  • On the turn you destroy the last linked Cog(s), it is wise to damage the Chainsaw Consultant as many times as possible at the same time while also making sure his RPM won't leap into Scabbard range, as Kickback doesn't block Scabbard. He'll gain RPM per gag that hit him as he normally would since the link would be broken. Examples of ways to do this (assuming RPM is 12,000 or lower) are using 4 Squirt on the last Cog, allowing you to accomplish the aforementioned goals (due to splash damage counting as a hit for RPM) while getting the Chainsaw Consultant Soaked for extra accuracy, or 1 Squirt/3 Sound or 2 Squirt/2 Sound, also granting some Toons an Encore bonus for the first turn of Kickback. Squirt and Zap can also accomplish these things, but this is generally not preferred as Zap removes Soaked.

  • If Cut the Slack happens, you can use Squirt/Zap or Trap to decrease the promoted Cog's health and therefore the damage dealt when it's fired through Layoffs.
  • If the leftmost Toon has the Marked Wood debuff and Layoffs is going to happen, you can destroy a Cog to prevent a cog from being fired at them.
  • If the Chainsaw Consultant has 960 Health and is Soaked, you can finish the fight with 4 Lightning.
