Rules

The rules of this wiki are to match the general rules of Toontown: Corporate Clash spaces, whether this be the in-game rules or through the official Discord. This means that:

  • All conversations and language should remain SFW for a family-friendly environment.
  • Avoid disrespectful comments about other individuals.
  • Do not advertise or discuss any rule-breaking content.

Additionally, do not revert an administrators action/edit without discussion or excessively revert other users edits. If there are any issues or confusion, contact an administrator directly or by opening a discussion through this page. The active administrators of this wiki are not Corporate Clash staff, please use their website to find ways to contact them, or use their email: [email protected], for in-game issues.

General Guidelines

Don't worry too much about forgetting to follow these guidelines as they are more tips than strict rules.

Making New Redirects

Generally, please refrain from making new Redirects for pages unless they help users search for things in some way. Do not make a new redirect simply because text on a page does not match perfectly with a page you are trying to link to.

Page Styling

Generally, how a page is stylized will largely vary by what kind of page it is. Whenever making additions to a page, always make sure to check other pages if you aren't sure how something is supposed to look to see if another page has already done it. General page styling for certain pages can also be found listed below.

When it comes to grammar, use your best judgment when choosing how things should be referred to as. In game, and on official posts, words are sometimes capitalized or written in different ways. This makes it difficult to determine the "correct" way to write things but it also means we are not particularly strict. Unique features, titles, or Toontown specific terms tend to be capitalized (Toons, Cogs, Playgrounds, Treasures, Fishing Rods). Or, if it would simply look better capitalized (Level 30.exe vs level 30.exe). Additionally, when it comes to referring to particular Cogs: Managers should be referred to as singular using "the" (The Pacesetter, The Derrick Man), and Employees should be referred to as plural or using "a" (A Cold Caller, Telemarketers). This is because Managers are one of a kind Suits while Employees are mass produced.

Exceptions to these guidelines should only be made with good reason such as direct quotes, in-game dialogue, or information from cogs.ink.

Version Histories

Version Histories should contain changes relevant only to the contents of that page. If it is related to the content, but would be better suited for another page, keep it on only one page. For example, if a task was updated to include defeating Downsizers, this information should be on the task page itself, not the Downsizer's page. If a change exists but was not listed in the official patch notes, then you should do one of three things:

  • If the change was implied but not directly stated (e.g. "Guitar solos can be heard from inside All-Star Suites on Lullaby Lane" implying the Manager Boss Pacesetter was added to the game), you can state the change in a bullet point below it written in Italics. Example below:
    • Guitar solos can be heard from inside All-Star Suites on Lullaby Lane.
      • The Pacesetter was added to the game.
  • If the change was completely undocumented but you know what version it was added in, write [undocumented] at the start of the bullet point followed by the change. Example below:
    • [undocumented] Flunkies have had their glasses removed.
  • If the change was undocumented but you do not know what version it was added in, create a section titled Undocumented Changes at the very bottom of the version history.

Other things to note:

  • Do not use equal signs in any of the body text when writing a version history. Using an equal sign breaks the template, and will not function properly until all instances of it are removed.
  • To bold the version number, put a semicolon ( ; ) right before it.
  • Version titles should always be written as "v[number] BETA" (all versions of the game are currently in beta, BETA should not be put for any versions post official release, if that ever happens). If a version was tied to a specific event (e.g. April Toons), it is acceptable to write the event and year after the BETA version number in parenthesis.
  • Do not link the text inside a version history.

The version history is always situated directly above the trivia section for that page. If a trivia section does not exist, it will be above the gallery, if no gallery then references/navigation box, and if none of these exist, at the bottom of the page.

Citations

Generally, citations are not used on pages as most information comes directly from the game itself. Only the following pages are to use citations due to either the nature of the page or other reasons:

If another page is made with large amounts of information from outside sources, assume it should be on this list.

Page Specific Guidelines

Cog Pages

  • With very few exceptions, always refer to Cogs by their Suit Name rather than their Real Name (e.g., refer to Chip Revvington as the Chainsaw Consultant rather than his actual name).
  • With the reveal of the new Boardbot Cogs, Employee Cogs have now been given set honorifics.
    • Employee Cogs should always be talked about as a group (ex: Bagholders not The Bagholder/They are not He is).
    • If this Employee Cog has a noteworthy pronoun that does not fit their honorifics (ex: Shark Watcher uses Mx./Mr. but notably has the neopronoun "fin") it should be listed on their infobox below their honorifics.
      • Currently, with the revamp of the Main Taskline being in the works, any in-game dialogue using pronouns that do not match a Cogs honorific (ex: Cog uses Mr. honorific but He/she in game) do not count as "noteworthy pronouns". This is due to a lack of confirmation that these are correctly used pronouns and not mistakes (this will be revisited when possible).
  • Strategy sections for Manager Boss pages are to be aimed at groups of randoms rather than coordinated groups. Strategy sections are also generally aimed to be as Rewardless as possible. As such, strategy sections should avoid being too complex and should avoid making use of strategies that very heavily rely on an excess amount of rewards. Strategies are also written to describe commonly used strategies or generally good ones. It is not always the most perfect/accurate strategy as that is typically unrealistic for the average player to follow. Overall, strategies should be giving general ideas on how to go about different mechanics rather than extremely strict choices.
  • Additionally, when writing Gag recommendations, the information should explain when and why the Gag is important for that specific fight. Refrain from excessive detail, but do include if a Gag may be the most ideal for a certain situation. Do not, however, write anything that would make a player feel they are required to bring that Gag. The purpose of this section is to let players to understand the relevance of the Gag in the fight and to make their own choices based on that information. This section is only for Manager Bosses, as Gags in C.O.G.S. Bosses do not really matter.
  • Each Gag and its Prestige should have a star value listed to rank its usefulness.
    • 0 stars = Ideally do not bring this to the fight
    • 1 star = Not recommended, but can be of use
    • 2 stars = Recommended, fairly useful
    • 3 stars = Highly recommend, bring if possible
  • Sections for Cog Pages are to be laid out as follows:
    • An opening line that varies depending on what kind of Cog the page is for.
    • Content Sync: Lists the stats Toons will be synced down to if applicable.
    • Attacks: Lists the Cog's attacks.
    • Cheats: Lists the Cog's cheats.
    • Strategy: Consists of some strategy that can be used to take down the Cog.
    • Loot: Lists any Loot drops obtainable from the Cog.
    • Dialogue: Lists any of the Cog's dialogue.
    • Music: Lists all of the Cog's music.
    • Sound Effects: Lists the Cog's Unique Voice Clips and Sound Effects used for Cheats.
    • Version History: Lists any changes made to the Cog over the game's life.
    • Trivia: Lists trivia related to the Cog.
    • Gallery: Consists of any images needed of the Cog. Images are to be split into three categories: Official Artwork, Screenshots/Misc. Images, and Renders.

Cog Attack Pages

  • For normal attack pages the order of the Cogs listed is:
    • Standard Cogs -> Managers -> Contractors -> Misc. -> Removed
      • Department order
        • Cog Gallery Order
  • For removed attacks, do not include the removed section.
  • Any Cogs no longer in game should be indicated with an * and a note at the bottom of the page.
    • If a Cog is still in game, and no longer uses the attack, they should be listed under "removed" without an *.
  • For signature attack pages the order should be:
    • Signature Cog's damage table with no subheader -> Removed (if any)
  • Attacks with multiple Cogs, and only one is still in game, this attack becomes a signature attack.

NPC Toon Pages

  • If an NPC appears in an Event Task which can no longer be accessed and effectively has it's dialogue lost to history, it is not to be listed in the NPC's story appearances.
  • With very few exceptions, coloring between the Infobox and Story Appearance buttons should always be the same (See Banker Bob for a relevant example).
  • Sections for NPC Pages are to be laid out as follows:
    • An opening line which states the NPC's name and where they're located.
    • Appearance: A brief line saying the NPC's species, colors, and clothing/accessories. Clothing items in this section are to be listed in the following order: Hats, Glasses, Backpacks, Shoes, Shirt, Shorts/Skirt.
    • IOU: Lists any information about an IOU if the Toon is used for one.
    • Story Appearances: Consists of most of the Toon's in-game dialogue by playground and their appearances in Official Storyline Comics.
    • Misc. Appearances: A list of appearances in non-taskline or storyline comic locations such as Blog Posts and Social Media Comics. All entries are to be listed in date order.
    • Unique Interaction Dialogue: Lists any custom interaction dialogue if the Toon has any.
    • Trivia: Lists trivia related to the Toon.
    • Gallery: Consists of any images needed of the Toon. Images related to Social Media Comics do NOT go into this section and instead go under Misc. Appearances.

Gallery Images

  • Images should only be added to the "Official Artwork" section if they have been posted by Corporate Clash in an official Blogpost, Social Media post, or Discord announcement. The only exception to this would be Corporate Clash staff posting concept work of whatever they helped create. If you are unsure, ask.
  • As of the public release of Corporate Clash models, the renders used in various galleries are mostly (if not entirely) fan-made. If you are experienced in working with Toontown models, don't be afraid to upload your work. However, please ask for approval before posting.
    • Renders should not include lighting, features, or animations that are not present in Corporate Clash. This means that things such as custom rigs and dynamic lighting should not be used when creating renders. Animations should be avoided if the character in question can not use it in game. For still images, some exceptions may apply if the animation is ambiguous enough. For animated gifs, it should always be a unique animation for that character. Animations such as being Lured or near death are allowed, but things such as the Rainmaker performing the Major Player's idle animation is not allowed.
  • Overall, the look of the character or content should look the same as if it was present in game.
  • Low quality and excessive images in a gallery may be removed.

Task Pages

  • Every task step is to be listed as a bulleted list.
  • All steps that aren't visiting an NPC are to be indented.
