Neighborhoods are the Toon populated areas that make up Toontown. A Neighborhood consists of a safe zone known as a Playground with multiple streets connecting to other Neighborhoods. There are 8 Neighborhoods in Toontown. Toons will have to visit and complete various ToonTasks in each Neighborhood while progressing through the Main Taskline.

Each subsequent Neighborhood in the Taskline is more difficult than the last, hosting higher leveled Cogs and more challenging tasks. However, the Toon Experience gained from completing tasks will also increase. Toons can visit each Neighborhood at any time, regardless if they've unlocked its Taskline. Neighborhoods that have not yet been visited will be blocked by clouds on the Map.

The first and easiest Neighborhood is Toontown Central, followed by Barnacle Boatyard, Ye Olde Toontowne, Daffodil Gardens, Mezzo Melodyland, The Brrrgh, Acorn Acres, and lastly Drowsy Dreamland in that order. The latter five Neighborhoods are also connected to Cog Headquarters, the Cog controlled domains of each Cog Department. In addition to the 8 Neighborhoods, there are 3 other miscellaneous areas being the Toon Estates, Minigames Area, and Roadster Raceway. During Toonsmas, Toons gain access to Toonseltown, a limited time seasonal Playground.

Playgrounds

Playgrounds are the heart and safe zone of each Neighborhood. Playgrounds supply Toons with anything they may need before going out into Cog battles, allowing them to recover Laff Points, restock Gags, go fish, and ride the Trolley. Important land mark buildings are located here such as the Toon HQ, Gag Shop, Clothing Shop, Pet Shop, Fishing Docks, and Kudos Board. Toons can gain Teleport Access to each Playground by completing the Neighborhood's required Sidetask.

Inside Playgrounds, Toons can collect treasures to heal Laff Points. Treasures are scattered about each Playground and respawn after a couple of seconds. Each type of treasure is tied to a specific Playground and heals a fixed amount, although this amount can be increased by reaching Kudos Rank 5 and 8.

Streets

LoopyLane.png

Streets connect Playgrounds to other Neighborhoods or Cog Headquarters. Streets are populated with Toon Shops which can be taken over by Cog Buildings. Some of these Shops will give out Sidetasks, optional ToonTasks which can be completed to unlock miscellaneous rewards and Toon Experience.

Cogs patrol the streets, with their level range being tied to the street and Neighborhood they're in (for more on Street Cog statistics, see: Street Cog Spawns). Each Neighborhood also has its own Street Manager, a Manager Cog that will patrol any of its streets.

Each street has a Gag N' Go, a van-based shop where Toons can buy Gags for a slightly higher price. Fishing Docks can also be found on some streets, as well as Knock Knock Doors. By standing directly in front of a Knock Knock Door, a knock knock joke will play out, healing the Toon afterward. This will heal the same amount as the Neighborhood's treasure, accounting for any Kudos Rank enhancements.

Neighborhoods

Each Neighborhood has a specific theme that is unique to them. Their buildings, NPCs, and appearance are all based on this theme. Additionally, Cogs have their own business related names they used to address each Toon Neighborhood.

Toontown Central

This Neighborhood's theme is related to Toontown itself. It encompasses the main Toon buildings (such as the Toon Hall) and characteristics of the game. It is the beginner area to introduce players to the atmosphere of the game. This Neighborhood connects to Barnacle Boatyard, Ye Olde Toontowne, Daffodil Gardens, and Mezzo Melodyland. This Neighborhood is referred to as the "Central Oil District" by Cogs.

Trivia

  • There are backgrounds for each Neighborhood, which can be unlocked when you reach that Neighborhood in the taskline.
  • Each Playground has a hidden nameplate that can be unlocked when doing something interactive with the surrounding environment.
  • The Minigames Area is considered a Playground although it is lacking the majority of resources that other Playgrounds have. It also does not have a dedicated taskline.
