Laff Points

Laff Points are the health system used in-game for Toons. It signifies how happy you are at any point in time. Having a high Laff count not only lets you survive stronger attacks, but shows off your own progression through the game as well.

When first arriving at Toontown Central, Toons start with 15 Laff Points. The Laff Meter displayed in the bottom left corner shows how much Laff you currently have. If you have taken any damage, it will list your remaining Laff Points out of your total Laff Points. There are 6 bars on a Laff Meter, 2 red, 2 yellow, and 2 green. Each one represents 16% of your total Laff rounded down. Once it reaches the last bar, the meter will begin to flash red. The Laff Meter's shape and color is based on your Toons species and head color respectively.

As of v1.3.0, the max amount of Laff Points is 150.

Upon the release of the other Overclocked Bosses and Boardbot HQ, it is speculated that the new max Laff will be 168.

Healing Laff Points

Unfortunately, Toons are able to go sad due to the invasion of Cogs. When battling, Toons can take damage from Cogs. If damage is taken that is more than what the Toon's Laff Meter can hold, they will become sad and teleport to the nearest Playground. Toons cannot leave the Playground until they are happy again. This requires waiting a certain amount of time until the Laff Meter has at least 1 Laff. Additionally, all of the Gags that the Toon held will be taken away by the Cogs. Until the Toon is happy again, they will be hunched over and can only walk very slowly. Their Laff Meter will also turn a sickly green, replacing the eyes with X's and the smile will now be a frown with the tongue sticking out.

Toons can recover Laff points by:

  • Using/being targeted by a Toon-Up Gag.
  • Using a Toon-Up Unite acquired from any of the C.O.G.S. Bosses.
    • These can be used to heal 20%, 30%, and 40% of the total Laff points a Toon has.
  • Being in a Playground (the further the Playground is in the Main Taskline, the more Laff that is healed).
    • Toons will heal passively every 30 seconds while inside a Playground. This amount can increase after reaching Kudos rank 5 and 8 to be up to +12 additional Laff. The Minigames Area and Roadster Raceway are exempt from this.
  • Collecting Playground treasures.
    • Each Playground has a dedicated treasure. Treasures are floating objects that heal a specific amount, increasing with each Playground, which can be increased even more up to +12 additional Laff after completing Kudos rank 5 and 8.
  • Riding the S.S Day-Sea in Barnacle Boatyard.
    • This action will speed up the time it takes to recover Laff.
  • Raising the flower in Daffodil Gardens.
    • This action will speed up the time it takes to recover Laff.
  • Turning in a completed ToonTask.
    • After talking to the NPC, all lost Laff will be fully recovered.
  • Gaining an Achievement.

    • Getting ran over by a train in Cashbot Headquarters.
    • Going into the oil fountain in the center of Lawbot Headquarters.
