Counterfeits

Not to be confused with the boss Count Erfit.

Counterfeits are papers that allow Toons to add extra Gags to their Gag pouch. They are obtained by defeating the Chief Financial Officer in Cashbot Headquarters.

Counterfeits are used to forge one of your Gags, adding +1 to its quantity in your Gag pouch. They do not take up your turn, even if you do not use that Forged Gag that round. The same Gag can only be forged once per battle. Forged Gags give the same amount of XP as if it were a real Gag. The number of Counterfeits used is equal to the Forged Gag's level. For example, a Level 8 Gag will require 8 Counterfeits in order to forge it.

Forged Gags go away at the end of a battle and will not refund any used Counterfeits. These Gags will also disappear during specific phase changes during Manager fights, such as the Major Player and the Plutocrat. After using a Counterfeit, the Gag's box will turn green with an indication there is an additional Gag. Additionally, a pop-up will appear to inform other players which Gag you have chosen to Forge. You can see other player's Forged Gags when viewing their Gag inventory.

Note that using a Counterfeit has a various amount of Reward Cooldown rounds depending on the Gag, especially in fights that have Content Sync in mind:

• The highest Gag in the fight will have a cooldown of 2 turns.
• The second and third highest Gags in the fight will have a cooldown of 1 turn.

The cooldown will be applied as soon as the Gag is forged, not used.

v1.8.0 BETA

• Reduced the Reward Cooldown of Counterfeiting level 7 and 8 gags by 1 round, in fights where level 8 gags are allowed.

v1.4.2 BETA

• Counterfeit rewards from the C.F.O. battle have been increased from 12 base to 16 base.
• C.F.O. reward boosters now give +4 more Counterfeits each instead of +3.
• Fixed a minor visual issue that would cause Gags to use the wrong background color after the Counterfeit menu was opened if they would not gain experience.

v1.4.0 BETA

• For the C.F.O., a new boss reward has been added: Counterfeits!
  • These allow you to forge a Gag, adding +1 to its quantity in your Gag pouch. They can be used once per battle for each Gag.
  • Forging a Gag does not take up your turn.
    • For example, you could choose to Forge a Wedding Cake and use a Boulder in the same turn.
  • The number of Counterfeits used is equal to the forged Gag's level.
  • For Manager fights that allow the use of Counterfeits, we've adjusted the cooldown to help this reward not be too powerful for lower tier fights. Cooldowns will function as follows:
    • The highest level Gag allowed in the fight will have a cooldown of 2 turns.
    • The second and third highest levels will have a cooldown of 1 turn.
    • Level 8 Gags will always have a cooldown of 3 turns and level 7 Gags will always have a cooldown of 2 turns.
    • For Gags not listed, they will have no cooldown to Forge in battle. However, you can still only Forge each Gag once per battle.

Trivia

• The maximum amount of Counterfeits that can be held is 9999.
• Counterfeits replaced the C.F.O. reward Gag-Up Unites.
• Counterfeits were first teased in a Partner Stream with Smirky (A Clash Partner) and Sheriff Cranky (A Clash Crew member).
