Counterfeits

Not to be confused with the Manager boss Count Erfit.

Counterfeits are Boss Rewards that allow Toons to add one additional use of a Gag in their Gag pouch. Counterfeits are obtained by defeating the Chief Financial Officer in Cashbot Headquarters. Counterfeits can be used in battle by clicking the "Forge" icon on the left side of the battle menu. Toons can view how many Counterfeits they have on the Gags information panel of the Gag menu.

How Counterfeits work

Functionality:

• In battle, using a Counterfeit on a Gag, known as forging a Gag, will give you +1 additional use of that Gag.
  • Each individual Gag can be forged only once in the battle.
  • Forging a Gag does not take up a turn in battle (i.e. Toons and forge and use a Gag in the same turn).
  • A forged Gag will remain for the entire battle until used.
• Forging a Gag can give the Toon a Reward Cooldown depending on the level of Gag.
  • The highest level Gag will give a cooldown lasting 2 rounds.
  • The 2nd and 3rd highest level Gags give a cooldown lasting 1 round.
    • This accounts for battles with Content Sync (e.g. in the V.P. forging a level 6 Gag, the highest Gag level, will give Toons a 2 round reward cooldown).
  • Any lower leveled Gags beyond this point will not give a reward cooldown.

Usage Cost:

• Forging a Gag costs that Gag's level in Counterfeits.
  • For example, a level 8 Gag will require 8 Counterfeits to forge.

Exceptions:

• Forged Gags will disappear during specific phase changes in Manager fights, such as the Major Player and Plutocrat fights.

Obtaining Counterfeits

Toons obtain Counterfeits by defeating the C.F.O.

• 16 Counterfeits per C.F.O. defeated
  • +6 additional Counterfeits per C.F.O. defeat from:
    • Surplus Sunday / Silly Saturday (10:00-12:00 AM/PM EST)
    • Cashbot Department Level 30
    • C.F.O. Reward Booster
    • Boss Reward Booster
    • All-Star Booster
• Maximum Counterfeit amount from a single C.F.O. defeat: 64 Counterfeits

• Reduced the Reward Cooldown of Counterfeiting level 7 and 8 gags by 1 round, in fights where level 8 gags are allowed.

• Counterfeit rewards from the C.F.O. battle have been increased from 12 base to 16 base.
• C.F.O. reward boosters now give +4 more Counterfeits each instead of +3.
• Fixed a minor visual issue that would cause Gags to use the wrong background color after the Counterfeit menu was opened if they would not gain experience.

v1.4.0 BETA

• For the C.F.O., a new boss reward has been added: Counterfeits!
  • These allow you to forge a Gag, adding +1 to its quantity in your Gag pouch. They can be used once per battle for each Gag.
  • Forging a Gag does not take up your turn.
    • For example, you could choose to Forge a Wedding Cake and use a Boulder in the same turn.
  • The number of Counterfeits used is equal to the forged Gag's level.
  • For Manager fights that allow the use of Counterfeits, we've adjusted the cooldown to help this reward not be too powerful for lower tier fights. Cooldowns will function as follows:
    • The highest level Gag allowed in the fight will have a cooldown of 2 turns.
    • The second and third highest levels will have a cooldown of 1 turn.
    • Level 8 Gags will always have a cooldown of 3 turns and level 7 Gags will always have a cooldown of 2 turns.
    • For Gags not listed, they will have no cooldown to Forge in battle. However, you can still only Forge each Gag once per battle.

Trivia

• A counterfeit is a fraudulent replica of a currency.
• A forged Gag still rewards Toons with Gag XP, which can be useful for Gag Training.
• The maximum amount of Counterfeits that can be held is 9999.
• Counterfeits replaced Gag-Up Unites rewarded from the C.F.O.
  • As a result of their removal, Toons were given 4 Counterfeits for every Gag-Up Unite they owned.
• Counterfeits were first teased in a Partner Stream with Smirky (A Clash Partner) and Sheriff Cranky (A Clash Crew member).
