  • The Major Player added brighter spotlights to the show! If you'd like a more in-depth look at the Manager changes, as well as the thought process behind them, click HERE.

1.4.4 Manager Changes

Gatekeeper
We felt that Gatekeeper was overall in a good spot, but we wanted to give non-Zap Gags some more opportunity to shine in this fight. We also wanted to encourage players to stack up damage bonuses on the Cogs for slightly longer before destroying them.

  • Changes to Gatekeeper
    • HP: 1300 -> 1200
    • Core Competency Health Bonus: +80 -> +100

Rainmaker
While Rainmaker needed some adjustments in v1.4.0 to scale the fight properly with the introduction of Unites to her fight, it was a little overtuned. Our aim here is to bring the difficulty back down to the intended level, as well as remove some potentially unfair moments in the fight.

  • Changes to Rainmaker
    • Dodge Rate: 40 -> 35
    • Cog level range: 7-10 -> 7-9
    • HP: 2500 -> 2700
    • Inversion no longer heals Rainmaker
    • Storm Cell:
      • Starting damage value: 34 -> 36
      • Per Gag damage subtraction: -3 -> -4
    • Cogs will no longer attack after Rainmaker hits 0 HP.

Witch Hunter
For Witch Hunter, we felt that Bewitched's 20% damage boost wasn't enticing enough to hit him during the Mob Mentality turn, so we increased it to 30%. To compensate for and encourage quicker strategies utilizing this boost, the starting defense value of Will of the People was slightly increased.

  • Changes to Witch Hunter
    • Bewitched Toon damage boost: 20% -> 30%
    • Will of the People Starting Defense: 40% -> 50%

Multislacker
The added randomness with overlapping Foreman abilities and buffs was helpful to the fight's overall replayability, but the Union Bust foreman was consistently much more difficult to create a strategy to take out than sets without this foreman. This change should bring the Union Bust foreman more in line with the others.

  • Changes to Multislacker
    • The Union Bust Foreman will now wait 2 rounds to commence Union Busting instead of 1.
    • Factory Foremen Dodge Rate: 60 -> 55

Major Player
This fight, while more interesting and engaging overall, acted as a sort of brick wall for players at the intended difficulty level. These changes are intended to allow players more room to take advantage of Viral Sensation and the Star of the Show damage boost to take out the Major Player more efficiently. Additionally, we wanted to minimize some scenarios where the random buffs could be particularly mean if a bad set was chosen, such as when getting multiple Cogs with lure immunity.

  • Changes to Major Player
    • Dance Partners round cycle: 4 rounds -> 5 rounds
    • Toon Star Boost: +10 -> +15 per defeat
    • Only one Lure immune Cog may be on the field at any given time
    • Viral Sensation damage boost: +40 -> +60
    • Flat Damage Down value: -30 -> -50
    • Cogs attacking via the Guest Verse ability will now have 90% accuracy for single target attacks and 80% accuracy for group target attacks.
    • Star of the Show Starting Damage (Phase 2): +15 -> +20

Picnic Games

  • Toons can now offer to declare a Draw in Chess.
  • Improved server-side performance for Chess.
  • Fixed various softlocks and crashes related to Picnic Games.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that allowed Toons to use fires and sues on insured Cogs.
  • Fixed a bug that would restrict Unite usage on the turn Monsoon triggers in the Rainmaker fight.

v1.4.3 BETA (August 12th, 2023)

Clubs

  • Club Members can now see who has donated Jellybeans to the Club!
    • Data recording for who has donated starts after this release.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a long-standing issue where Clubs could not re-equip bought cosmetic items.
  • Fixed a district reset related to ToonTasks.
  • Minor text fixes.

v1.4.2 BETA (August 9th, 2023)

  • Counterfeit rewards from the C.F.O. battle have been increased from 12 base to 16 base.
  • C.F.O. reward boosters now give +4 more Counterfeits each instead of +3.

  • Fixed various client crashes and district resets related to Surrendering during a Cog Boss battle.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur during the Overclocked C.L.O. after a Toon went sad while fighting Stenographer.

  • Fixed an issue where the Surrender button was being shown in the Toontorial.
  • Minor text fixes.

v1.4.0 BETA (August 4th, 2023)

Boss Rewards

  • Unites are now awarded from all bosses in addition to their exclusive reward. Unite rewards are as follows:
    • V.P.: 2 Unites
    • C.F.O.: 2 Unites
    • C.L.O.: 4 Unites
    • C.E.O.: 4 Unites
    • Overclocked C.L.O.: 7 Unites
    • The only way to increase Unites given by Cog Bosses is the Surplus Sunday boss reward boost, which will increase Unite rewards by +1.
      • In other words, Boosters do not increase Unites given.
  • For the C.F.O., a new boss reward has been added: Counterfeits!
    • These allow you to forge a Gag, adding +1 to its quantity in your Gag pouch. They can be used once per battle for each Gag.
    • Forging a Gag does not take up your turn.
      • For example, you could choose to Forge a Wedding Cake and use a Boulder in the same turn.
    • The number of Counterfeits used is equal to the forged Gag's level.
    • For Manager fights that allow the use of Counterfeits, we've adjusted the cooldown to help this reward not be too powerful for lower tier fights. Cooldowns will function as follows:
      • The highest level Gag allowed in the fight will have a cooldown of 2 turns.
      • The second and third highest levels will have a cooldown of 1 turn.
      • Level 8 Gags will always have a cooldown of 3 turns and level 7 Gags will always have a cooldown of 2 turns.
      • For Gags not listed, they will have no cooldown to Forge in battle. However, you can still only Forge each Gag once per battle.
  • Gag-Up Unites have been removed.
    • Existing Gag-Up Unites will be converted into Counterfeits. Toons will gain 4 Counterfeits for every Gag-Up Unite they currently own.

Bossbot HQ

  • Cog Golf Courses have been shortened!
    • The Front Three -> Silver Sprocket Course, with 2 floors.
    • The Middle Six -> Golden Gear Course, with 4 floors.
    • The Back Nine -> Diamond Dynamo Course, with 6 floors.
    • These courses should award around the same Stock Options as the courses they replace.
  • The Bossbot HQ Courtyard and the Cog Golf Courses have received a new suite of music!

Surrender

  • In battles where Toons can't normally run away, there is now a "Surrender" button!
    • Pressing Surrender will initiate a vote among the group.
    • If all members of the group vote to surrender, then the group will collectively flee the battle.
    • In department bosses, all members on both sides of the battle must vote yes to surrender to be able to flee.

C.L.O.

  • The damage value of Trap Gags in the active round have been slightly increased.
    • Quicksand: 90 -> 115
    • Trapdoor: 140 -> 160
  • The C.L.O. will now land in a random position after falling through a Trap instead of always landing in the middle of the arena.
    • A large indicator has been added to indicate where the C.L.O. is about to land.
  • The C.L.O. has borrowed a weaker variant of the Defense Specialists from the Overclocked C.L.O. fight to prevent constant stunlocking.
  • Department Experience gains in the C.L.O. fight have been moderately increased.

Overclocked C.L.O.

  • Various balance changes have been made the Overclocked C.L.O. fight to make it more engaging, including moderate balance changes to the Litigation Team.
  • The randomized drop location that was added to the standard C.L.O. fight has also been added to the Overclocked C.L.O.
  • Three brand new loot drops have been added to each member of the Litigation Team!
    • Each manager will drop their respective sticker, as well as two returning drops from the Break the Law event.
      • Some of these returning drops have received updated looks and names.
    • Toons will have a chance to earn drops from all four managers each time they complete the Overclocked C.L.O. battle, regardless of what managers they fought.
  • Our Content Design team is aware that the achievement "Defeat the Overclocked C.L.O. with two Toons or less" is currently realistically not achievable with this update.
    • We have plans to address this achievement at a later date.

Regional Managers

  • The Kudos managers have some new tricks up their sleeve!

Mezzo Melodyland

  • The Mezzo Melodyland playground has gotten a visual Toon-Up!
    • For Content Pack creators: The playground, props, and the Toon HQ have been repalettized to allow for more customization and better performance.
  • The spinning piano in the playground no longer spins around.
    • In its place, some fancy drum trampolines have been added to make it easier to jump up to the outer ledge of the playground.
    • Relevant Tasks and rewards that previously relied on the piano have been updated to utilize the new drum trampolines.

Gag Accuracy

  • Gag accuracy now works off of a soft cap system.
    • Accuracy will soft cap at 95% (except Drop, which still soft caps at 96%.)
    • After the soft cap, accuracy bonuses will still add towards your final accuracy, but at 1/10th effectiveness.
      • For example, a Throw Gag with an overall accuracy of 100% will result in a final accuracy of 95.5%.
    • Accuracy will hard cap at 99%. This value can be reached at 135% overall accuracy for most Gags, and 126% overall accuracy for Drop Gags.

Cog Buildings

  • Cog Buildings no longer award double Merits when completed during a Cog invasion.

Groups

  • Toons will now receive a notification that outlines the Group Tracker and how to use it when they are about to fight the Derrick Man as part of the Toontown Central Taskline.
  • Toons will now properly be given a warning dialogue box when attempting to leave an area that would cause their Group to disband as the owner of the Group.

v1.3.1.4 BETA (January 6th, 2023)

Gags

  • Our goal with the previous update's balance changes was to reel in some of the v1.3.0 update's power creep in relation to department bosses, and discourage some monotonous and overpowered strategies revolving around Sound and Trap. After hearing lots of community feedback, we realize we missed the mark a bit on some of these changes, and so for today, something different.
  • The damage values for some of the Trap Gags have been adjusted further:
    • Marbles: 65 -> 75 damage
    • Quicksand: 110 -> 115 damage
    • TNT: 275 -> 280 damage
    • Trap's executive Cog boost: +20% -> +30% damage boost
    • This track should feel very similar to how it did in v1.2.5, but with some small tweaks to lower level Gags.
  • Zap Gags have received an increase to their damage values across the board:
    • Joybuzzer: 10 -> 12 damage
    • Lightbulb: 18 -> 20 damage

    • Lightning: 230 -> 240 damage
  • Round number enjoyers, rejoice -- The previous update's changes to the damage values of Sound Gags have been entirely reverted!
  • In exchange for all this, we've lowered the multipliers for Encore boosts:
    • Unprestige Encore: +10% -> +5% damage boost
    • Prestige Encore: +20% -> +15% damage boost
  • Last but not least, by popular request, a certain Throw Gag receives the spotlight in a damage buff of incredible proportions:
    • Whole Fruit Pie: 55 -> 56 damage

SpeedChat

  • Re-organized the SpeedChat menu to be more familiar to Toons who played before the v1.3.0 update.

    • Some v1.3.0 features, such as Groups and Clubs, have also made their way into this SpeedChat menu organization.
  • Updated the positioning of the SpeedChat menu to fix some issues with users who scaled the Chatbox to a non-default value.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed various issues causing users to get locked out of their group's street Manager battle.
  • Easter Eggs that require certain SpeedChat phrases to unlock should be accessible once again.

    • Wrecking Ball: 240 -> 220 damage
    • TNT: 300 -> 275 damage
    • Additionally, using multiple Trap Gags on the same Cog in a given round now only counts as one stun rather than multiple.
  • The Sound Gag Track has also fallen victim to some similar adjustments:
    • Elephant Trunk: 50 -> 45 damage
    • Foghorn: 70 -> 66 damage
    • Opera Singer: 90 -> 85 damage
    • "Sound Tech" has been removed -- Sound Gags will no longer have 100% accuracy unless all Cogs are lured.
  • By ridiculously popular request, a certain Zap Gag has also received a massive buff:
    • Stagelight: 125 -> 126 damage
  • If a Cog dodges a Lure Gag, it will deal 25% less damage for the turn. This does NOT apply to Cogs with Lure Resistance.
  • Gag accuracy no longer has a lower cap in the V.P. and C.F.O. battles due to Content Sync.
    • While Gag levels will still be capped to level 6 or 7, in terms of accuracy they will act according to what your highest level of earned Gag is.

Other

  • Toons will no longer be able to create a group in a district that is due for maintenance.
  • Group-based reservations for Toons in battle will now only apply for 60 seconds.
