Fishing Rods
Fishing Rods are tools exclusively used in the Fishing activity to catch Fish from ponds located in every Playground.
Fishing Rods are upgradable and come in 7 different tiers. All Toons start out with the Cardboard Rod and can upgrade their Rod through the ranks til they reach the Platinum Rod. Toons looking to upgrade their Fishing Rod can visit The Tell-Tale Carp located in Barnacle Boatyard and interact with the Shop Owner Edgar Allan Pole. All Fishing Rods require a specific Fishing Level to be met as well as a Jellybean fee to be purchased.
Higher tiers of Fishing Rods can catch heavier fish (which typically reward more Jellybeans), but cost more jellybeans when casting.

To swap between Fishing Rods you currently own, open your Shtickerbook, go to the Items & Codes tab, then locate the Items tab at the top of the screen.
Cardboard Rod
The Cardboard Rod is your starting rod, meaning you'll automatically have it unlocked.
It costs 1 Jellybean to cast, can catch Fish weighing 0-4 pounds, and can catch 38 Fish Species.

Trivia
- The Gold Rod is able to catch a wider variety of Fish Species than the Platinum Rod. It's able to catch any Fish the Platinum Rod can catch and more.
- This is due to weight floor caps* (the lowest weight a fish can be/rod can catch). The highest weight floor cap for a Fish is the Bull Dog Fish weighing 18-20 Pounds, meaning it can be caught by both the Gold Rod and Platinum Rod.
- Because the Gold Rod can catch fish ranging from 5-18 pounds while the Platinum Rod is 6-20, this gives the Gold Rod access to lower weight fish the Platinum Rod cannot catch.
