Not to be confused with the Cog attack Pink Slip.
Pink Slips, also known as Fires, are Boss Rewards that instantly remove a Cog from battle. Pink Slips are obtained by defeating the Chief Executive Officer in Bossbot Headquarters. Pink Slips can be used in battle by clicking the "Fire" icon on the left side of the battle menu. Toons can view how many Pink Slips they have on the Gags information panel of the Gag menu.
How Pink Slips work
Functionality:
- Using a Pink Slip on a Cog will have them fired out of a cannon, removing them from the battle. Pink Slips always go first in the turn.
- Using a Pink Slip will give the Toon a
Reward Cooldown lasting 2 rounds.
- Reward Cooldown prevents Toons from using any Boss Rewards while active.
Usage Cost:
- Firing a Cog requires 1/3 of the Cog's level in Pink Slips rounded up to the nearest integer.
- For example, firing a Level 12 Cog will consume 4 Pink Slips.
Exceptions:
- Manager Bosses are completely immune to Pink Slips. Some Managers have specific cheats meant to prevent weaker Cogs from being fired as well.
- Failing to fire a Cog will not consume any Pink Slips.

Trivia
- A Pink Slip is a notice of dismissal from employment.
- The cannon is a pun on "getting fired"; instead of being removed from their position, they are physically fired out of a cannon.
- If a Cog is Level 4 or below, the Cog will simply say "You can't fire me, Toon. I quit." and fly off.
- A Pink Slip could have been earned outside of the C.E.O. by collecting the shredded pieces of the Chief Justice's pink slip during Break The Law.
- Manager Bosses have taunts for trying to fire them. Their default one is "You can't fire me, Toon. I have tenure."
- A tenure is a condition that prevents something from being fired without cause.
- Pink Slips also take off both layers of a Version 2.0 Cog, provided it is not a Manager which is currently impossible to find.
- Fired Cogs (including Skelecogs) are shown in their "unemployed" outfit, which turns their suit gray and removes any department patterns.
- Bagholders, Insiders, and Head Honchos have accessories that changed into this unemployed color.
- Fired Cogs also lose the department name on their nametag while in this state.
- This does not apply to "Fired" Cogs that are Level 4 or below.
- Waiter Cogs lose their bowtie when fired, but nothing replaces it so they are left with an empty collar.
- In the v1.2.9 update, firing a Flunky under Level 5 would have yield a unique phrase before flying away.
- The phrase is actually the standard firing phrase for that level, but caesar-shifted to 13. It was meant to find the password for the Chainsaw Consultant's account on cogs.ink.
- The maximum number of Pink Slips that can be held is 9999.
