Cease & Desists, also known as Sues, are a Boss Reward that prevent a Cog from attacking. They are obtained by defeating the Chief Legal Officer in Lawbot Headquarters.

Cease & Desists are used after Pink Slips, but before Gags. When a Cog is Sued, they are unable to attack for a set amount of rounds, starting with 3 rounds. The round amount will dwindle by one round for as long as they are not hit by a Gag. The amount of rounds reset depends on the amount of Gags used during that round. Two Gags, for example, will allow 2 extra rounds. The maximum amount of Sued rounds is 4. The rounds are affected by any Status Effect that has a resistance to debuffs. For example, a Sued Skelecog will be Sued for a maximum of 3 rounds, but will start off on 2 rounds. This also means Virtual Skelecogs can immediately wake up from being Sued if not attacked, due to having a maximum 2 rounds of being Sued. However, they will still not attack on the first turn.

To successfully Sue a Cog, the number of Cease & Desist papers required is 1/4 of their level. For example, a Level 12 Cog requires 3 Sues in order to be successfully Sued. If the number is a decimal, it will simply round up. Using a Cease & Desist has a Reward Cooldown of two rounds.

Manager Bosses are completely immune to Cease & Desists. Some of these Managers have cheats specifically designed to allow weaker Cogs to be immune as well.
