A Sellbot cog disguise page.

Cog Disguises are required to infiltrate Boss lobbies in order to fight the Cog Bosses. Toons will need to gain a disguise for each Cog Department to fight that department's boss. To obtain a Cog Disguise, Toons must retrieve 5 Suit pieces from completing certain Cog Facilities. Once all parts have been obtained, and they are ready for a Promotion, Toons can enter Boss lobbies and will appear as the Tier 1 Cog of that department.

After defeating a Cog boss, the Toon's Cog suit will recieve a Promotion, upgrading it to the next level. Toons can view their Suit progress on the Cog Disguises page of the Shtickerbook, as well as their Department Level and Merits needed to reach the next Promotion.

Promotions

After defeating a Cog Boss, Toons will earn a Promotion for that department's Cog Disguise. Earning a Promotion will increase the Suit's Cog level, and when the maximum level has been reached, will promote their Suit to the next Cog Tier. There are 84 Promotions needed to max out a normal Cog Disguise and reach the Level 50 Tier 8 Cog Suit.

In order to fight the C.O.G.S. Bosses and earn a Promotion, players must first acquire the proper Merits for that department, which are gained through defeating Cogs. Once a Cog Disguise is maxed, Toons will no longer require Merits to fight that boss.

Merit requirements vary depending on Cog Department and Suit level. These Merit requirements can be found on each department's Promotions page:

Executive Cog Disguises

An executive Advocate disguise page

Executive Cog disguises are currently exclusive to Lawbots.

Executive Cog Disguises are Suit levels passed the normal Cog Disguise ranks and are used as part of Overclocked Boss progression. These Suits use the Specialist Cog ranks. In order to acquire an executive Cog Disguise, Toons must have their Cog Disguise maxed and have access to that Department's Overclocked Boss via completing the first Directive. Once these requirements are met, players can face off against the Overclocked Boss and be promoted to an executive Suit.

To promote their executive Cog Disguise, Toons will need to defeat the Overclocked Boss. Once their Suit's rank has reached max level, they'll need to speak to that department's Secretary to receive and complete a directive. There are 40 executive Promotions in total (although certain Directives will require more Promotions) needed to reach the max of an Executive Disguise, at which point their Suit will be Maxed.exe. Executive Cog Disguise Promotions do not require Merits.

Maxed Executive Suits are able to change their Disguise's appearance to any of the previously earned Suit ranks for that Department. To do this, use the lever next to the Suit's name on the Cog Disguise page. Left clicking will go up the Suit ranks and right clicking will cause it to go down the ranks. This feature is purely cosmetic and serves no functional purpose.

Trivia

  • Non-whitelisted words sent in Chat will be censored with Cog noises like "blah", "rah", "bah", and "barp".
    • Any messages sent in chat while disguised will use the Cog font, VT Portable Remington.
  • While in a disguise, Toons will receive their respective Cog's brush off taunts as SpeedChat phrases.
  • When teleporting into a Boss lobby via the Group Tracker, the Toons will fall from the sky and slam onto the ground in their Cog Disguise.
  • Attempting to access a Cog Boss door without the completed Cog Disguise will result in the following message: "You'll get caught going in there as a Toon! You need to complete your [Department] Disguise first! Build your [Department] Disguise out of parts from the [Facility]."
  • Suit parts for any Cog Disguise can also be randomly obtained by defeating the real family in Face the Family, exclusive to April Toons.
  • During The Director's Cuts ARG, it was possible for a Toon to obtain their Boardbot suit during the Boardbot MEGA Invasion. This was due to an oversight in regarding to how suit parts are given.
    • It was also possible to get a promotion off of the completed Boardbot suit, unable to be turned in due to the lack of a Boardbot boss.
    • These were all reverted with the launch of v1.7.0.
  • Each disguise part has a description that can only be viewed when said part hasn't been obtained yet. Click the button below to view it:
