Sads the Skelecog
Sads was a Lawbot Manager Boss introduced in the Halloween 2019 update. Depending on the average amount of Cogs destroyed in the group entering the Count Erclaim/Count Erfit elevator, Toons have a small chance at encountering Sads.
Sads was a Level 1.mgr Lawbot Cog with only 1 HP that can only deal 1 damage per attack. However, he dodges every single attack thrown from the Toons for 20 rounds. At least one Toon must attack so that the round is counted as such. Once the 20 rounds are up, Sads will be dealt with 9999 damage.
As of after the April Toons 2022 event, Sads no longer appears in the game. He has also been removed from the canonical story of the game.[1]
Calculating Sads' Encounter Rates
The formula for encountering Sads is:
Sads uses the groups average Cog kills as the dictating factor to spawn by entering Count Erclaim's elevator. This chance caps at at 12.5% with a group Cog kill average of 80,000. These Cog kill stats are visible on your Toon Statistics and Achievements page located in your Shtickerbook.
First, add up everyone's Cog kill stats. Then, you divide this number by 80,000 multiplied by the number of Toons in the instance. You'll now have a decimal, so you'll want to multiply this number by 5, then add 3 to that number. The number you now have is the percent chance you have of encountering Sads. This caps at 8%.
Example: 3 Toons with 1,000, 26,000 and 93,000 Cog Kills enter an elevator. The group average is ((1,000 + 26,000 + 93,000) = 120,000) We take this total and divide by 80,000 times the number of Toons here, which is ((120,000 / (80,000*3) = 0.5). Now to get our percent chance, we multiply this number by 5 and then add 3, which is ((0.5 * 5) + 3). This give us a final number of a 5.5% of finding Sads once entering the elevator.

Cheats
Whenever a Toon is hit by any of Sads' attacks or the menu gears (shown below), they will be hit with a unique damage over time mechanic, losing roughly 4-5 Laff per second until all Gags have been picked and locked in. This damage over time increases exponentially if only one Toon is present in battle. Toons with this status effect will not receive the self healing effect from Prestige Toon-Up if they only have 1 Laff remaining.
Large gears will swarm the Gag menu as the battle goes on. Starting from the first turn a single gear will always be hovering around SOS, Pass, and Flee buttons while later rounds will introduce more gears moving through specific locations on the Gag menu. These automatically apply Schadenfreude if touched.
Rewards
Defeating Sads would reward Toons a Sads outfit that includes slippers, shorts, and a shirt as well as a unique Nameplate and Profile Background. Every battle beyond that will give Toons 7 of each Shkrafting Material.
Since his removal, these rewards are now available in Elphabat's Shkrafting Shop.

Strategy
These following strategies can help fighting Sads:
- Always bring 2 Toons with Toon-Up.
- Keeping your mouse at the top of your screen to not take damage from the menu gears at rounds 15-20.
- Always have at least one Toon attacking Sads for the round to count.
- Bring lower level Gags to spam at Sads as to not waste your more powerful Gags.
- As an alternative if the group has high enough Laff and is good enough at avoiding the gears that show up on the menu, it is possible to completely stall out the damage dealt by Schadenfreude as each hit from Sads or touching a gear only does roughly 20-30 damage total.
- When attempting to solo the fight ensure that you have auto-lock enabled or always right click your Gags to automatically lock in if auto-lock is disabled. It is recommended to be as fast as possible more than usual here due to the fact that Sads can only target you leading to the damage dealt over time being much higher due to the higher amount of karma gained.
- A small stock of Unites is highly recommended in order to keep yourself alive. Although if everyone in the group is fast enough to attack, Toon-Up, and lock in, there is generally no reason to use unites unless the loop is broken for one reason or another.

Trivia
- Sads is based on the character Sans The Skeleton from Undertale, created by Toby Fox.
- Before the Halloween 2020 update, Sads' last phrase used to mention Count Erclaim, as it was rumored that he was destroyed back then.
- The music that plays when the "But nobody came." cutscene is triggered is a slowed down version of the Gag Shop theme.
- The corridor profile background showcases a blue circle within the shadows, making a nod off of Sans' glowing blue eye ability.
- Sads is the only Cog to not use the default Cog font.
- He is also the only Cog that speaks his dialogue one letter at a time.
- Starting from 2020, Sads' battle theme was used to tease incoming content, around the 0:31 - 0:48 mark.
- In 2020, before replacing the old Lawbot Headquarters, a segment of the new Lawbot HQ's courtyard theme was played.
- In 2021, a segment of the Major Player Phase 1 battle theme was played.
- In 2022, a segment of the Pacesetter Phase 1 battle theme was played.
- Interestingly, there is another segment in all three songs playing an older version of some Cog Headquarters courtyard themes. Sellbot Headquarters in 2020, then Bossbot Headquarters in 2021 and 2022.
- Sads is mentioned by name to be Count Erclaim's Roommate in one of his opening speeches if you have encountered and defeated Sads at least once.
- From v1.2.5 all the way to his removal, Sads had a chance of appearing in the Race Game on the Trolley.
- With the Halloween 2021 version of the fight, Sads' first, sixteenth, and seventeenth lines of dialogue changed. The old versions of these lines are as follows:
